Excellent explanation of the Moral Blind SpotI downloaded this piece after listening in on a Jeff Lyons Reedsy webinar on how to avoid the murky middle in writing a story As a person who is feeling murky I found his seminar helpful He hammered on the point that you must go into the story engine to fix the sagging middle As much as I dreaded hearing it I appreciated his point that it is critical to work on the protagonist s motivation And to do that I had to understand the moral blind spot He pointed to this 5 piece hence my reason for reading it I m not going to say it s a smooth read It s not It reuired slow slogging with multiple stops to digest and think about how it applied to my story But it was worth it And a bonus is that he refers to Caroline Leavitt a Moral Blind Spot guru in her own right Between Lyons and Leavitt I think the concept is sinking in
